The Audit Manager will directly report to partners while coordinating with additional staff members on audit engagements. Applicants are expected to effectively multitask with assignments, engagements, and direct requests/needs of client base.
SCOPE OF WORK:
- Communicate with partners, managers and team members
- Understand current auditing standards and procedures in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States
- Plan and manage multiple engagements at a time from start to completion

The Manager views the development and training of team members as a very important part of career and necessary to advance to senior management level positions within the firm.
SCOPE OF WORK:
- Act as a go to resource for research, technical, and reporting issues for clients
- Identify and assist with implementation of tax planning and saving strategies for clients
- Represent clients before the IRS and state tax authorities
- Prepare and/or review individual and business tax returns
- Manage multiple tax engagements and supervise staff
- Build strong team relationships and satisfy other functions as needs arise
- Provides mentorship opportunities to Staff and Senior Accountants as well as seasonal interns
- Work diligently building relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations to continue to foster a long-term partnership between the JHM Tax Department and external clients. - 5+ years of public accounting experience required
- CPA preferred
- Proficient with tax software such as ProSystems and RIA a plus
- Experience with tax aspects of business transaction issues, including shareholder transactions, etc.
- Experience with mentoring, training, and developing tax professionals
We’re looking for an Accountant to work in our busy office environment. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, capable of working independently and comfortable interacting with staff from all levels of the organization. This position requires a high level of attentiveness and meticulousness. A successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment, as well as have previous experience with preparation of financial statements and developing budgets.
SCOPE OF WORK:
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain multiple client books and records
- Prepare reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy for month-end/year-end closing and any adjusting entries needed
- Issue internal “management use only – no assurance provided” financial statements
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Preparation of various tax reports including sales/use, gross receipts, payroll, personal property, 1099’s, etc
- Assist client with creation of annual budget
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to client
- Complete local, state, and federal government reports
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Experience in financial report writing and analysis
- Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards
- Ability to manage accounts effectively and perform budgeting tasks
- skilled in cash flow analysis and providing recommendations for improvement
- 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
